Long-term memory

What is long-term AI memory?

Samesoul organizes selected preferences, important facts, ongoing goals and personal context from conversations. With memory enabled on the same account, relevant saved information can support later conversations.

What can be useful to remember?

  • Stable preferences, such as your preferred writing style.
  • Ongoing goals, such as an exam or a long-running project.
  • Important personal context that you want to carry into future conversations.

Start using memory

  1. Sign in and open Memory settings from your account page. Check that Enable memory is on.
  2. Discuss information you want the assistant to understand over time.
  3. Allow time for processing, then open Memory from the chat sidebar and choose Manage memories in the More menu to inspect saved information.
  4. Start a new conversation and ask a relevant question. Remove inaccurate or unwanted saved entries.

Memory is different from chat history

Chat history preserves a conversation. Long-term memory contains selected, organized information. Deleting a chat does not automatically delete its saved memories. Turning memory off does not delete existing entries.

When does it work?

Not every message becomes a memory, and processing is not necessarily immediate. Whether an entry is used depends on relevance, settings and available information. Memory is not a guarantee of perfect recall.
